It's near to the end of January 2008, and I just came up with my list of 2007 most enriching audio adventures (I'm referring to CD, mind you).
My best of 2007 are:
My best of 2007 are:
- Radiohead - In Rainbows
- Annie Lennox - Songs of Mass Destruction
- Peter Bjorn & John - Writer's Block
- Feist - The Reminder
- PJ Harvey - White Chalk
- Lily Allen - Allright Still
- Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala
A dear friend of mine made me listen to Jens' album and my ears and senses immediately hooked on Jen's smart, beautiful, lingering tunes. The lyrics are not overshadowed by the music itself, they're all also smart, witty and I can hear some cynicism (love it!) on several tracks. Whenever I hear the CD it feels as if I'm taken away on a vintage journey in a time machine into my parent's golden era.
I have to remind myself to thanked my mate for this enriching pop audio experience that is Jens Lekman.
Honorable mention from 2006:
Perfect perfect PERFECT blend!
It's like a having a cup of Toffee Nut Latte on a cold breezy afternoon, only this one treats to my audio and spiritual senses.I have to remind myself to thanked my mate for this enriching pop audio experience that is Jens Lekman.
Honorable mention from 2006:
- The Killers - Sam's Town
This album of The Killer was released in mid 2006, but I only heard it by late 2007. In this album The Killers takes me into a roller coaster carnival ride of their new musical direction. This album services me with a ripe and mature sounds, much better sounding than their Hot Fuss album and it made me wanting more and more and more of The Killers musics.
There you go...
Go buy those album this instant, I promise it's not going to be a disappointment.
I especially recommends Jens Lekman album, for those who loves a challenging audio adventure. I bet my (flat) ass you're not going to regret purchasing this brilliant masterpiece.
